Carol M. Mason, ARNP, CLS, FAHA
Certified Clinical Lipid
Specialist, presently in private
practice with the Cardiology Division
at LifeLink Healthcare Institute in
Tampa, Florida. Previously she was
Clinical Director of the Division of Preventive
Cardiology at the University of South Florida College of
Medicine in Tampa, Florida. Prior to her transfer to the
Tampa area Ms. Mason was for 14 years the Clinical
Director of the Division of Preventive Cardiology at the
St. Paul Heart Clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota
|
Board-certified lipid specialist, with 25 year’s
experience in cardiovascular medicine, Ms Mason is the
Immediate-Past President of the Southeast Lipid
Association, a Chapter of the National Lipid Association
and Vice President and Diplomat of the Accreditation
Council on Clinical Lipidology. She is also past
President and serves on the Board of the Preventive
Cardiovascular Nurses Association. Ms. Mason lectures
frequently and serves as a consultant on lipid
management, diabetes and dyslipidemia, organizational
management of heart disease prevention programs, as
well as women’s heart health issues. She has authored
many articles on lipid management and lipid clinic
organization and administration including a chapter in the
book entitled; A Guide to Risk Reduction Management
as well as a chapter in the book entitled; Reducing
Cardiovascular Risk in the Insulin Resistant Patient. She
recently authored a chapter in the textbook Therapeutic
Lipidology entitled: ‘Development & Management of a
Lipid Clinic’. |

Sandra M. Gawchik, DO,
FAAAAI is Clinical
Associate
Professor of Pediatrics at Thomas
Jefferson Medical College
in Philadelphia, and
Co-Director of Allergy and Clinical Immunology
at Crozer-
Chester Medical Center in Up
land,
Pennsylvania. She is also
President of Asthma
and Al
lergy Research Associates in Upland, Pa.
Dr. Gawchik received her DO degree from
Kansas City
College of Osteopathic Medicine
and Surgery. She com
pleted a rotating
internship and residency in pediatrics at
Cherry Hill Medical Center in Cherry Hill, New
Jersey
and at St. Christopher’s Hospital for
|
children in Philadephia. She completed a
fellowship in Allergy and Immu
nology at
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She is
board certified by the American Board of
Pediatrics,
American College of Osteopathic
Pediatricians, and The
American Board of
Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Gawchik is a member of many professional organiza-
tions including the American Academy of Allergy Asthma
and Immunology, Pennsylvania Asthma and Allergy As-
sociation, Philadelphia Allergy Society and Academy of
Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Gawchik has delivered nu-
merous lectures and addresses both nationally and interna
tionally. Her awards and honors include Pennsylvania
Asthma and Allergy Association’s Teacher, Humanitarian
and Leadership Award, and a Recognition Award for her
efforts in founding the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter
of the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America. She
appeared in Top Docs for children in the Philadelphia
Magazine as well as in the Mainline Today. |
