My vision of the NP is to be able to provide medical care to patients reaching all their needs from the medical, educational, and spiritual side. We as NPs serve as the adjunct to the MD's and assist in giving quality care to our patients. We are able to diagnose and treat patients and refer them to the specialists when necessary. We have well defined scopes of practice to work under. NP's are a great need in the medical community.

active for many years with AACN, and I feel that it is paramount for
nurses to be active with professional organizations, working with our
colleagues on the issues that affect our practice - there is strength

- MSN 1996 from SDSU with FNP –practiced in rural clinic setting in Alcester, SD for six years. Now presently working at Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota assisting the Cardiovascular Surgeons.
- Goal for my term with the Board of NPASD—to be a unified, cohesive group working together to let the public know exactly what our roles are and how they can benefit to be served by us. Though I have served on this board previously, I am anxious once again to fulfill this role.

- Married to my husband Loren and we live in Rock Rapids, Iowa.I have 2 step children ages 30 and 27.I became a grandma for the first time now on May 30th with Jennifer and her husband Monty had Gabryella Irene.
- In my spare time, I am like to run, shop and eat chocolate!
